CrossFitters are hard to kill – Our COVID-19 Plans

(Updated 3-13-2020 5:59pm)

I want to continue to update you concerning COVID-19.

As I’m sure you are aware, there is a lot to consider when looking at how to respond to COVID-19, and what we can all do to help mitigate the transmission.  Even though as of the writing of this message there are no confirmed cases of the virus in SLO County, all large events such as the Spartan Race have been cancelled.  And even earlier this afternoon, all the schools in the county have been closed as well.  These are very concerning decisions for sure.

As of today, CrossFit Ergo does not have plans to close unless we are directed to do so by the health department or city, state, or federal mandate. That said, we recognize closure is a possibility, and we take that very seriously. We will do everything in our power to make sure you have as much advance notice as possible if that occurs, and we will only close as long as it is absolutely necessary. As a team, Ergo has a plan in place to allow you to continue your workouts and healthy habits from home in the event of closure.

We will continue to perform our regular cleaning and sanitizing procedures with a huge emphasis on hand-washing.

We will be increasing our deep cleaning days and the Ergo coaches will be wiping down all equipment after every class. We have also removed communal chalk buckets from the gym floor.

Please help us by washing your hands well before coming into Ergo, sanitize your equipment after use, and wash your hands after working out. This will help deter the spread of illnesses in general. As always, if you are sick or have flu-like symptoms please stay home and limit contact with others.

Your health is very important at this time. CrossFit makes you very hard to kill!  That is not a joke and it’s something I truly believe.  Keep getting enough sleep, quality food and daily movement as much as you can. I know in times like this it can be easy to get caught up in other thoughts and let yourself slide. If you do fall ill, being as healthy as you can beforehand is very important.

Again, please continue to stay updated through the CDC and local health authorities.

We will continue to keep everyone updated as we receive more information. As always, thank you for your consideration and support!

We got this!
